Basalt stones are selected for their heat retention properties; it is an igneous rock that is very dense and colorful. They heat quickly and hold the heat. The Stones are warmed in water and placed along the body as well as utilized for massage. The use of the heat opens the muscles thereby reducing the need for deep penetrating work that can cause discomfort.
